Happy new year whanau/family! Ziggy Marley has just released a new song, "I AM A HUMAN”, and he's made it free to download via Tuffgong Worldwide, here bit.ly/iamahuman.

Here's my take on this ... I think its great how Ziggy is able to use his talents, fame, fortune, and the support of others to promote 'positive vibrations'. And if you're waiting for my 'but', I'm sorry there isn't one. If he has a political agenda I'm not aware of it (even though I've heard it said, 'everything is political'). Ziggy is talented and good on him for putting this message out there.
What I find interesting is how over time one generation's focus can change to something different for the next generation. It was only 40 odd years ago that Ziggy's father, Bob Marley, was singing (or preaching - call it what you like) about being a Rebel, a Rastafarian, and a Revolutionist. All things seemingly denounced in this new song by Ziggy Marley.
Truth: we don't have to be like our fathers, we have freedom to chart our own course in life.
